Stale Moments

Wonderful beginning of the year people!

How have you all been? I know, my blog hasn't been updated since 5th December 2013 and that's why the title explains everything. I didn't have the time to write much about what happen since so many things happened during the early months of this year. To keep things simple I have decided to split my blog post into three to four different parts. It consists of School, Holidays, Work & leisure. So let me begin with School.

School

The last few days of school was extremely hectic as usual. Everyone would stayed back till the free access lab closes for that day. Since the computer is better than the one we had at home, almost everyone finish up the project in school. I will post a few screenshot of my final project here. I don't wish to go into much details about specific subjects but I want to highlight this module called Advance Interactive Digital Media. For being able to complete my this module project, I would like to thank Azizah and Faried my two classmate who helped me with the coding. Basically this project is to create a 3D model and being able to interact with it. For example since my project have tablets PC, when I clicked on the screen, I am able to play an Advertisement video on it. It's kind of cool but the process behind it is not as simple as it looks. Then I have 3D Real time and Visualisation as well as Interactive 3D modules separately. I will post my project about that two modules since this two module i found it really useful!

This is my project from I3D. If you have 3D anaglyph glasses with the red and blue you can actually see the 3D effects.

This my second part project for 3D Real Time visualisation. As I am into road cycling this days, i decided to model a bike for my project. It's quite fun modeling parts like this.

This is the scene taken from my 3D Real time visualisation project part 1. It's the same content i use for the I3D module as well.

So yeah, as you can see above my final project done with the software called Cinema4D. Towards the end, everyone need to attend a 3 hours Project show organized by our Course. If you have forgotten, my semester 3.1 is doing a Breast Reconstruction awareness educational videos. Since the animated video is a bit graphic I will not post anywhere. During the last month, all the groups was assigned a lecturer to train us on the powerpoint slides and presentation skills for the IMT project show. Our group lecturer Mdm Vivienne was a nice lady who are very patience and guided us along really well for this presentation. Even I admit that she always changes things last minute, at least everything went smoothly as planned. I'm just so glad. Okay I'll let the photos do the talking and to end my School section of this post.

some of the banners about my course.

IMT project show banner with the students profile.

The BRAS team members with the supervisors.

Through thick and thins together, we stayed back till late night to complete the projects. We help each other, we build the trust, everyone grow up since our first day, there will be one last picture of us like this again during graduation ceremony, many things will change but we always remember we are part of Z1102 2011-2014. Wish everyone the best for their future endeavors~

Holidays

Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia February 2014

In mid February, I went to Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia for Maulidur Rasul at the orphanage there. The first day, everyone assembled at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal and we departed for Tanjung Pinang at around 830am. The ride was smooth as it was a huge ferry and there's plenty of available seats. Arrived around 1000am Indonesia time and we first went to the market to shop then proceed to Aston Hotel Tanjung Pinang. I was so shocked that the accommodation was a five star hotel. Definitely satisfied with the trip.

Shower and clean myself since the dry spell affected the Riau province as well. Just need to drink plenty of water to keep hydrated. We left for the orphanage at 4pm, the bus ride took 45 minutes from our hotel. Upon arriving we were greeted by the children there. I feel tears looking at them but I feel more happy that they welcome us with warm welcome. Then the Maulid begins and lasted for 2 hours. Fastforward to the evening, after prayers we went to the beach side seafood restaurant to settle our dinner there. Its a luxurious for the students to be able to have a seafood and most enjoyed the dinner, as for many, it's their first time eating seafood. Even the food is a lot, they didn't finish the dinner. As for my table, everything is clean means we finished every single food served as we were so hungry. Then we bid farewell to them and hopefully we get to see them again, may they have a bright future ahead.

After which, we headed to the only shopping place in Tanjung Pinang which is Ramayana. Its a two storey building everything available under one roof so there's not much things to buy, but definitely I bought 4 pairs of polo t-shirts for work at an amazing discounted price!

We had a good sleep that night as everyone was tired from all the long trips and endless shopping at the market. The next morning, we had a sumptuous breakfast and then we headed to make last minute shopping and waited for the ferry to depart at 5pm. The ferry back to Singapore wasn't as fantastic as the air conditioner is faulty and the China lady beside me sat so close to me its like there's no room between my thigh and hers, i barely had enough space for myself. Anyway the trip was fabulous and It reminds me that I am fortunate to be born here and having the luxurious standard of living compare to them who barely eat three time meals a day.

Kuala Lumpur, Malacca January 2014

My first trip for 2014 is to Kuala lumpur and Malacca in January. It was a family trip with the cousins. We departed from Eunos MRT station where we took a large Van all the way till Kuala lumpur and back to Singapore. After clearing the immigration, we are bound for the North South Expressway. It was a Chinese New year Weekend that day and the expressway is packed with cars going back for the new year. We arrived in Kuala lumpur half past midnight, then we settled at my house in KL. Since it was the last trip before that house is sold.

The next morning, we started shopping at Sungei Wang then to Bukit Bintang. The cousins and the aunts separated the shopping destinations and we met at night for dinner. I managed to get myself a few pairs of t-shirts and lots of other stuff. We settled for lunch at a Korean restaurant. The moment i stepped in the restaurant it remind me of my date with Rose back in Seoul. The ambiance and the smell was the same, how I missed Seoul very much. The food was fantastic and it was enough for the five of us. I told Rose about this place and she also said she missed those times as well. Aww is there anything brewing there?
After lunch we continued shopping at Bukit Bintang and Pavilion where we met with one of my cousins friend.  We then settled for dinner at SweeTree Ampang with the rest of the family members. The food is fantastic as well, I can't deny any but it was good. Then the six of us went for a karaoke sessions follow my night market. Ended the day well and it was so tiring.

The next morning, we headed to Malacca and had our breakfast at Subway. Arrived in Malacca at 1pm after 2 hours getting stuck in the congestion! The congestion was so bad every time I visit Malacca. That day we checked into Hatten Hotel Malacca and again a five start hotel there. This picture is a panorama picture taken from our room. The room is overlooking straits of Malacca and it was a breathtaking view.
After cooled ourselves down the shopping spree begins, I managed to buy my running shoe from Bata which was within my budget. Then I just enjoyed the day with lots of foods and foods and foods. Beginning the lunch with Sushi king, followed by Steamboat buffet at the hotel. I lazy to add pictures from my whatsapp about the buffet but it was a good dinner. The steamboat has 168 varieties to choose from and from a price of RM88 per pax. It's quite worth it and I enjoyed my steamboat!

I shall end my post with pictures to hint of my upcoming 2O14.

November Madness

Hey all!,

What are you all up to. It's been a pleasure to be written to you once again and first and foremost I would like to apologize to everyone for the long updates. As the title explains everything November Madness, means I am really busy for that month. Lets begin with Life, School, work alright. Here we go once again.

One of the main reason for my late update is due to my loads of project and I am still having the Holiday mood that i don't wish to write anything that happen back home. Time has passed and today marks 2 months since i left for Seoul. The things i do, i see, i feel everything is being missed. I am sure she misses me too ehem. Do you? What is that first wish you wish since you saw your first snowfall in 5 years?

Let me skip the life part since i only go out twice with my friends this month. Firstly met Kevin,Zoey, Louis and his gf for a movie at Vivo, if i'm not mistaken the movie we watched is something plan. I couldn't recall that much. For your info they are my secondary school bestfriends. We spend the O level years together mugging. That was one awesome memory we had together. As usual we had the normal Korean food for dinner and headed to I12 Katong for dessert. It was a sweet caramel machiatto, I kakaotalk Naeun on that day and we kinda get connected just talking about Caramel Machiatto. Drove all of them back then i conclude my outing for that day. For the second outing its with Kevin and Zoey too, my bestie. We had lunch at Tampines after school and we had fried mars balls for dessert. It's a simple and fattening dessert but who cares since its yummy!

School has been really tiring, not tiring with projects but I have too much napping time after school. First few weeks need to rush the Major project stuff, thank God that stuff has ended and now I am battling in my last semester in school. So many things happened during major project that even our friendship got shaken because of it and we learn a painful lesson. Back to school the most fun subject is 3D Real Time and Visualisation. It is just advance of what we learnt so far in school but this time I just love the project as it is individual and I can have my own target to finish anytime i want. Then we have Interactive 3D Display. This is one cool subject. We learnt how to create stereoscopic camera where can put in any of our project and render it. The best part that we need to use the 3D glasses for this module, it kind of hurt my eyes at first but i got used to it after that. Next Advance Interactive Media, where we uses EON once again. This is the second least favorite subject as the software really gives a lot of trouble but its kind of fun cause the project is individual so there's no one I will need to scold. Let's not talk about my most hatred subject. Talking about it make me hate it  more. Lastly we have Career Communication module where we are being prepared for job interview once we graduate from here. It's really fun and the teacher is not that bad too. Did i mentioned to you that my timetable for this semester is really relaxing. How does 4 hours a day of lessons sounds to you? If it does sounds fun, you bet! That is the reason for my tiring long nap every single day. My project progress is going good so far as i going to complete my projects soon, my time management is really good!

Lets have a wonderful Christmas with Spongebob and friends this holiday! This is where i am working currently the spongebob event. I would say that this event is way easier than the previous Millionaire event as the job scope is only cashier and redemption. For the first time I had experienced being a cashier, at first it was difficult but Wilson the Event Manager who taught me about it was really kind and helpful. We encountered a few problems together and I learnt the lesson really well. Using a POS machine isn't that hard but the most problematic is that when the cash and the cash amount is not tallied. When that happens you know what to do other than forking out to pay the differences.. It's really not fun but I had quite an awesome experience so far. I have a good relationship with almost 1/2 of the Event Managers since most of them is my fellow colleague once back in Millionaire. Alright now i shall tell you a few scenarios that happened so far. On that day the thursday somewhere in November, I was scheduled to work from 3 to 11pm at night. It was really tiring but i had to do it since i am scheduled. There comes a group of Japanese Students asking how to buy the plushies, So our crew explained to him then he came back with uncompleted requirements. So he was talking a bit of Japanese and i understood him, I tried to explain in the way he could understand so he went back to the shop to add the amount to the requirements. After coming back, he can only buy one plush toys but his female friend or girlfriend gave me a cute fluffy eyes trying her luck to buy more, but its just so bad since the other Event managers is there. Since she doesn't get to buy she gave me a very seductive wink after all of her friends had left. I was so shocked and the other crews tease me that the girl trying to seduce me and all of the crew is a girl. It's been a long night, i wish to see her again xD.

There's another encounter the next day, this time a sales lady from the nearby shop. She gave me a slutty look and since the manager is not there, i got no choice but allowed her to buy another one. Well it's not a  lost since she is paying for it right? Well that's what the other crew members said. Then afternoon the same lady brought another friend and bought another plush toys too, It was really close my friendly Event manager was concentrating on the stocks even when she is just beside me. She even handed the toys with a wide smile, hahha i am speechless. Okay then last saturday, there's this Aussie lady, she rub my face with her hands and saying good boy, and i was like what! As usual the other crews teases me, especially this new colleague of mine Phyllis, she also touch my face!! Our relationship is quite good i guess, she sit so close to me and finish up my packet of biscuit, she even feed me with the biscuit, that's how close we are. She is just one weird girl i had met so far. We keep teasing each other at work to make it more fun and there's a lot of things about her that makes me interested. Just yet another girl. She send me random pictures and videos of herself doing stupid things everyday! Haha i guess we just gets more comfortable around each other.

Real Time Visualization:

Sunday 27 October 2013

About me

Name: Khamarul Ariffin MDH
Nick: Karl, Yeunkarl, Karl Park
Age: 20 Years Old
Occupation: Student at Temasek Polytechnic
Date of Birth: 30th March 1993
Place: Mount Elizabeth Hospital
Race: I'm a mix blood.
Language: English, Malay, Arabic, Korean, Japanese
Youngest child in the family
Loves Traveling around the world, watching documentaries, driving, learning new stuff.
I hate to waste time, think of someone that not going to happen, day dreaming, broken promises, backstabbers etc

I'm a big fan of KPOP! You name it, I think I have it!

My ambition as a child is always to touch the sky. In order words, flying a plane and bring the passengers to their destination with ease and peace. Passengers safety is always every pilots most important priority. As I grew older as teenager growing up with Maplestory, I have think differently. Since I did not get into the course that I want, I want to be my own boss. Basically working from home no need to go work from 9 to 5, obeying BOSS, meeting deadlines and having lots of problems. What I want is just an extra ordinary life where I get to spend my time with my family anytime of the year while making money online. Making money online has been around for many years and many success stories have been created. When is my turn to taste success? I think it will be very soon.

Next up how am I like? Okay I'm not going to reveal every single thing here, I'll just say a few things and only a few things. I am shy by nature but when I started to warm up or boil, I may just explode. In other words, I am like this by your first impression but when you know me enough, I'll be someone like you never have known before. I think differently and I don't grew up like other teenagers do, if you get what I mean.

Okay let's stop about all this life stories, how about my love life then?

Okay this will be a bit short. Since young I am surrounded by girls and they loved me so much. I didn't know at first till puberty came. That's when all the shyness came about. Who don't feel shy right? Okay I NEVER had any relationship before and I meant it. Since I am growing older I feel there is a need for me to find a life partner soon. I remember sitting around at the hospital looking at old bachelors who don't have anyone to look after.  It's quite sad I wouldn't want that to happen to me. So for a girl, I am not bias. International or local is fine, She must love me for who I am, care about me and always support me in everything that I do. Even though I am not good or not funny just show me that you appreciate my presence because I will cherish you fully and give you the world.

Seoul Trip Part 2 Day 10-14

Continuing from the previous post.

We have come to the end of this long post soon. I am sure many readers is keen to know what's the ending like for my last leg of the trip.

Day 10(October 13): Bukchon Hanok Village +Naeun & Friends

Good morning everybody! Did everyone have a good night sleep? It was a tiring day yesterday and to those readers who is not there, you are tiring of reading long post too, am i right? Don't worry i promise you that this post will be longer! The itinerary today is Bukchon Hanok Village and meeting my friends.

Bukchon Hanok Village is a village of traditional houses situated on top of hills. It is located near the Gyeongbokgung, Changdeokgung Palace etc. Today many of this traditional houses operate as restaurant, guesthouse, offices and lots more. The unique thing is the architecture of the houses. There's 8 Photo taking spots with 2 trails in Bukchon Village. Most of the photo taking spots offers visitors the best photo angle you can take to see the uniqueness of the village.

To get there: Take train to Metro Line 3 to Anguk Station. Exit 2 and walk 300m till you see Tourist Information Center.

As for me i only managed to cover 4 out of 8 of the Photo spots because of lack of time and the place is huge! As usual I will let the photo explains the beautiful village of Bukchon Hanok Village.

The next part I parted ways from the group as they continue to shop at Namdaemun while i meet my friend, Naeun and her friends. I wonder if i should tell everything that happened? I want to keep it for my memories.
Well let's go with it. Naeun is a friend i know from SNS a few years back. Every time when i visited Seoul she will be jealous of me because she is a Seoul person but I know Seoul more than her. Everything else shall be private then.

So our day begins and we met at Gangnam station. I was using Kakaotalk Wifi since my EG Simcard have problems. So once i get the Wifi i was told that she would meet me at Exit 11. So I decided to wait on top instead of bottom. Okay waited for about 10 minutes since Wifi signal still strong. She told me she is already here and was wearing red. I look around i only saw one girl wearing red. My first opinion that the girl is pretty and has a thick make up. Her eyebrows is long too. I was about to approach her when i receive a message that she is waiting for me downstairs. I was shocked out of sudden. I make my way down and she grab hold of my hand the moment i reach down. Phew, I was saved from embarrassment, if only i approach that girl, i might embarrass myself. I told Naeun about it and she laugh at me, why so bad!

So headed for lunch at the place where I always wanted to bring her. We talk quite a bit and get to know each other better. It's like in 2 or 3 years we have talk offline and this is the first time we are talking face to face. I am happy that she would meet me because previously back in 2010 my sister Jieon didn't want to meet me! Thanks Naeun for welcoming me to South Korea with open hearts. We headed to Apgujeongrodeo next to Coffee Cojjee. Coffee Cojjee is the place where Naeun always go even alone to drink coffee there while having glances of looking at idols. Some information about about Apgujeongrodeo,it's situated near Hanggang Park and it's home to luxurious brand boutique. Often you can see idols, actor, actress hanging out here. It is home to a few well known entertainment company like SM Town,JYP etc. I didn't go to this place but I know it's there.

So we headed for Coffee Cojjee and at the front there's two Black Idols van. Naeun told me it was 4Minute and something starts from B. I can't remember who but i saw the guy idols. They were tall and skinny. Oh my god. So we found a place and sat down. Ordered Green Tea Latte and she ordered Caramel Ice Blended. It was so nice and i enjoy it so much. At that moment of time, I was the only guy in the cafe. Rose can see through my shyness and she told me don't worry, she's there for me. Then as we make our way out, Naeun help me take a few photos of albums signed by Kpop idols.

Next we went to Ttukseom Resort and as usual it is just beside Hangang river. It's our first time there so we visited most of the place and was amazed by the structures and place. We went into the Museum there and learn a little about Hangang Park, Of course we doesn't miss taking photos of the beautiful scenery. It was really nice there to spend the Sunday together. Initially she wanted to ride the bicycle but then it was too crowded that we decided to take the Couple duck boat. I was afraid of the water but nonetheless i don't want to disappoint her so I go along with it. We spend 35 minutes on the boat and we watch sunset together.

Then she ask me if i want to meet her friends and I agreed. Even i was shy, well it's good to expand my contacts there. We headed for Janghanpyeong and as usual our first time again. We met another three of her friends there, Haemin,Gayoung and Misoo. At Janghanpyeong that night there's a festival and the side of the roads were filled with night markets, there's two performance and guess who is the DJ? Park Myungsoo the guy from Happy Together! The whole place was like a disco and it was my first time having that feeling and I kind of liking it. We headed for dinner and we get to know each other better from there. So towards the end, Naeun need to make a leave first as her house is 2 hours away from Seoul. I stayed with Haemin and Gayoung. I promise to meet Naeun the next day to continue our conversation. Haemin, Gayoung and I settle for Coffee at Ediya coffee. There we talk a lot and I enjoyed talking to them. We talk in basic English and Korean, it was fun though. We talk a lot of things and as usual I can't disclose anything that we talk here. So after that we parted ways and Gayoung accompanied me to Wangsinmi where she go home from there and for me back to BoA Guesthouse. It was really an enjoyable night and we hope to meet again during my next visit to Seoul, maybe next year.

Day 11(October 14): Gwanghamun Square & Myeongdong

The next day we continue to Gwanghamun square. Gwanghamun square is located near Gwanghamun palace. There are two statues one is Admiral General Yi Sun-Shin and the other is King Sejong statue. Both of statue is a famous figures in korean history. There are a lot of foreigners visited this area to take photo of the statue. Towards General Yi Sun-Shin statue there is a place where you can put on the Royal Hanbok and take photo with it. It's really beautiful and make from real gold.

How to get there: Gwanghamun station Line 5, Exit 2 and walk 3 minutes

Remember i told you that cheonggyecheon stream begins from Gwanghamun, it's indeed the starting point of the stream. We walk from Gwanghamun till Myeongdong. It's actually less than 1km not that far and is very accessible. If you walk at night, there's a light show in various part of the stream. It's really beautiful and you can walk all the way till Dongdaemun fashion town! Superb isn't it. Arrived in Myeongdong Euljiro-il(1)ga 45 minutes after walking from Gwanghamun. It was really a far walk, then we decided to come back in the evening as some of the place is close. We went for a stroll in Ewha Women's university. It's similar to Hongdae Area where the area mostly catered to fashion for the university students. Indeed most of the things is for girls so guys there's a few shop where you can shop.

How to get there: Ehwa Women's University station line 2

At night we were supposed to go to Insadong, the place where you can buy korean ancient artifacts and also Ssamziegil the open air shopping mall. It was a good walk around the area but we were too late. So next we went to Hapjeong station where Homeplus is situated. For a walk around Homeplus is like Giant. It's so huge and is situated near our place. We didn't know this place until we found out by chance.

Day 12(October 15): Eid Adha at Itaewon & Suwon.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Adha to my Muslim readers. Today is 9 Dzulhijah 1433 in Islamic Calendar. We celebrate Eid Adha this year away from our home and lovely ones. It was really a good experience performing Aidil Adha in Seoul. We rushed to the Mosque in Itaewon to get space in the mosque, fortunately we managed to get to the basement. Everyone wanted to go in as it was drizzling, but no choice most of the late comers prayed outside with drizzle and cold wind. It was really cold that morning.

As for me, i went to Suwon on my own to visit Naeun. I need to pass her presents that i bought for her. The train ride took me 2 hours from Itaewon. I got lost once but it was actually the right place. Met her around noon and I exited the wrong door that she didn't manage to find me and i stood still while she come to my rescue. Finally met her and we settle lunch first before we parted ways. I was told to her house its another 45 minutes of bus ride. I really wanted to visit her but guess she is busy that day so we didn't get the opportunity. To your disappointment there's no photo in Suwon as well, I'm very sorry. Next time i visit Suwon i will take lots of photos okay.

At night we shopped last minute in Seoul and settle our dinner at Hollys Cafe. I took a very nice photo of the cafe. The drink was good too. It was our last night at BoA Guesthouse and it's sad to leave Seoul. Time pass really fast when you are having fun right.

Day 13(October 16): Seoul/ Incheon

The next day i left our unused leftover food and donate to BoA kitchen. We took the photo with BoA as well, she's a young manager and really kind. She ask me to add her on Facebook and we took photo together before leaving for Incheon. Definitely we'll come back to BoA guesthouse in our next visit to Seoul.

Next we make our way to Incheon Airport Welcome guesthouse. Journey took 2 hours on AREX and bus. It was located 5 minutes from the Airport and very accessible to the Airport but not the city centre. Arrived checked in and we left for Seoul again to get last minute souvenirs and to complete our to buy list. We went to Myeongdong, Namdaemun then we visited Incheon. It was my plan to visit Incheon town, very high technological city with a huge shopping mall Incheon Square 1. If you watch Running man you will know about Incheon Square 1.

How to get there: Take Incheon metro to Dongchun Station,Exit 2.

Walked around homeplus and make a round in the shopping mall before taking the bus back to our stay at Incheon Welcome Guesthouse.

Day 14(October 17): ICN-SGN

                                   SGN-SIN

I really hate to write about Goodbyes and going back, So I'll show you the photos. Anneyonghigaseyo Seoul
Goodbye my love,my new friends. Thank you for welcoming me to Korea with open hearts and I will come back so we can hang out again. Wait for me! I left my heart in Seoul knowing someone will take my heart and I will come back to her to create more sweet memories together.
